(Edit: As 505 pointed out, Suby was indeed first.)
Subaru was the first to offer a normal car that was slightly raised for soft-roading with the Outback, right?
Well, meet the Treser Hunter. Same Idea, just done coke-fuelled 80's style.
They even made a successor for the early 90s.

I would actually give that honour to the Jeepster.

Well, to be fair, the Jeepster was done the other way round. Take an off-roader and disguise it as a road vehicle. I would accept it as a spiritual predecessor to the Wagoneer.

That sure looks like the four rings of an Audi?

The Jeepster isn't so much an off-road-ified car as it is a car-ified Jeep.

And continuing, in the same general extended family much later, the Eagle.

The Audi on top looks great! I really like those wheels and I'm not sure why. That Subaru in the bottom picture looks stunning! In my opinion, Subaru needs to make a blast to the past for a little bit of redoing in their newer cars.

The car in the bottom picture started out in life as an Audi 90 B3.

The wheels remind me of early Corvette C4 wheels.
